World Mission Sunday 19th October 2025
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19–20)
October marks the beginning of Mission Month, a time when Missio Malta joins the universal Church in reflecting on the missionary call we all share. Throughout this special month, we prepare our hearts and communities for World Mission Sunday, which this year will be celebrated on Sunday, 19th October 2025.
This day is very special for us. It gives us the opportunity to reflect on the work we carry out among the most vulnerable communities around the world, while also sharing with you the many wonderful successes we have achieved together over the past year.
As in previous years, we will be celebrating this important event throughout the entire month of October, with activities culminating on Mission Sunday itself, a moment to honour the missionary work of thousands of men and women around the world. And so, our appeal to you remains the same: your donations are the lifeline that allows Missio to continue its mission, bearing so much fruit.
Remaining are the solar panels so that this hospital will have a supply of electricity all the time. In this way, they can turn on the incubators for babies who are born prematurely and thus be saved.
One shining example is the work of Brother Walfred in Pakistan. Born and raised in poverty, he chose to respond to his vocation as a Franciscan friar with courage and determination, transforming his life into a testimony of service to others.
Brother Walfred could truly be called a modern-day St. Francis. Inspired by the poor man of Assisi, he serves as a nurse and runs a small clinic, providing primary care and medical attention to hundreds who turn to him in need. Beyond healthcare, he works tirelessly with people struggling with drug addiction, homelessness, and many other social challenges.
With your support, Missio Malta can continue to stand beside Brother Walfred, helping him bring hope, dignity, and healing to his community.
Help Missio Malta provide more aid to this hospital in Uganda and help Sister Maria Goretti continue her work in this community.Join us throughout the month of October and on World Mission Day on Sunday 20th, and accept the invitation of Pope Francis so that we can go and invite everyone we find to the banquet. Let us live the Holy Gospel in practice, by giving our support to Missio Malta.
This year, we turn once again to you our dear benefactors, to join us in saving lives together with Brother Walfred and so many other missionaries. On Mission Sunday, 19th October, we invite you to give your support, just as you have always so generously done for Missio Malta.
Your help can make all the difference!
