“Missio Malta”, “we”, or “us” refers to Missio Malta, a registered voluntary organization in Malta, with registration number VO/1178, whose address is 150, Triq Gafa Mosta MST4128, Malta
“Donation or Donations” means a card payment contribution given freely and without exchange of value.
“Charity or Cause” means Missio Malta or any other charitable causes listed on our website, which are also the recipient of your donations.
“Us” refers to Missio Malta, either alone or together with You, as the context requires.
“You” means the person using the website and making the donations subject to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Agreement
You may register with Missio Malta’s platform to make donations.
Missio Malta can only accept your payment for donations to the charitable causes registered on our website.
You may donate by Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, American Express, or Maestro cards.
Missio Malta reserves the right to choose not to accept your donation for any reason, at its discretion, and will not be liable to You or anyone else in those circumstances.
Upon donating online, Missio Malta will confirm the authorization of your payment by displaying an on-screen acknowledgment, and followed by an official receipt sent by email
or postal address You provide with your details.
2. Donations
By using a credit or debit card to donate, You confirm that the card being used is yours. All credit and debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorization by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorize payment, we will not accept your payment, and we will not be liable for any delays or consequences of overdue payment. We are not obliged to inform You of the reason for the refusal. We are not responsible for any charges your card issuer or bank may apply due to processing your donation.
3. Tax Benefits for Maltese Taxpayers
Donations made to Missio Malta may qualify for tax deductions in accordance with Maltese tax laws. Please consult your tax advisor or refer to the guidelines provided by the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue in Malta for further information on how to claim such deductions.
4. Availability
Missio Malta shall provide the donation services in an efficient and effective manner, using due skill, care, and attention.
5. Your Right to Claim a Refund
Refunds will only be made where a donation has been processed in error or through unauthorized use of your card and only with the prior approval of Missio Malta.
6. Use of Donations
Missio Malta arranges for the processing of your donations as you direct. Missio Malta is not responsible for the specific use of these donations by the charitable causes you support.
7. Security
We are responsible for securing your personal data, including credit and debit card data, which is solely in our possession and under our control. We comply with PCI DSS, which sets out industry standards for maintaining a secure environment, and we deploy technology in our online payment processes to protect your payment card information. Missio Malta uses secure processes, including Verified by Visa, Mastercard SecureCode, and Amex Safekey, for your protection.
We recommend that You do not communicate your payment card details via email or other insecure methods. We cannot be responsible for any losses You may incur in transmitting non-secure information. Any such loss shall be entirely your responsibility.
8. Changes to Service
Missio Malta reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the website and its associated services at any time with or without notice. All new features, services, or software applications shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions.
9. Termination
You may discontinue use of the website and associated services at any time. To terminate your account, please request the closure via info@missio.org.mt or by calling (+356) 2123 6960. These Terms and Conditions will continue to apply to your past use.
10. Liability
Missio Malta will not be liable to You where performance of any of our obligations is prevented or restricted by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Missio Malta’s maximum liability for breach of these Terms and Conditions due to our negligence shall not exceed the total amount of the donations You have made using the website in the preceding 12-month period.
11. Privacy
Missio Malta’s Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, You also give your consent to the way we handle your personal information in accordance with that policy. Please review our Privacy Policy here.
12. General
If any part of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable, all other parts shall remain unaffected and in force. These Terms and Conditions, and any contract between Us, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Maltese law. Any disputes shall be brought before the courts of Malta.
Missio Malta may change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will not affect donations made before the changes are implemented. The latest version of the Terms and Conditions is available on our website at www.missio.org.mt.
